Dialed Call Pickup lets you answer a call that is ringing at another member's station in your pickup group. Membership in the Pickup group is assigned by the system administrator.
When a call rings at any set in the Pickup group, the indicator lamp next to the Pickup key flashes and an optional burst of ringing is heard.
Pickup group members can invoke a pickup by using a feature access key, feature access code, a softkey (on supported devices), or Auto Pickup.
The Preview mode allows you to preview the information associated with the call you intend to pickup. The functionality is available to Pickup group members who have their Class of Service (COS) option Call Pickup Display set to 'Yes'; but only when using one of the following MiNET devices: 5304, 5312, 5324, 5320/5320e, 5330/5330e, 5340/5340e, 5360, and 69xx phones.
With the COS option enabled, after invoking a pickup, you can preview the following information:
the calling party name and/or number, and (if the set's display area allows it)
the called group member's name and/or number.
From the Preview mode, you can then proceed as follows:
complete the pickup - using the feature access key or a softkey; or
ignore the call - the system will exit the Preview mode after the 'Display Caller ID on Multicall/Keylines Timer' expires; or
cancel the pickup - pressing the hard Cancel key or a softkey.
When you attempt to complete the pickup from the Preview mode, the Call Pickup - Directed process is used to ensure the correct call is picked up. If the call you are previewing and attempting to pickup becomes unavailable, you cannot pickup another call from the same Preview mode. You must cancel the current pickup, before attempting to pick up another call.
NOTES
One-line-display devices (5304, 5312, 5324) display only the calling - not the called - party information. The two-line-display devices display: the calling-party information on the first line and the called group member's information on the second line.
"Unknown Caller" is displayed as the calling party
for all calls to Single Line IP sets;
for all calls to remote group members;
when the calling party information is not available.
For remote group members, the called party line always displays "Remote Member".
If more than one party attempts a Call Pickup, the first party will seize the call and the other parties will hear reorder tone.
Users must be in the same pickup group and can only pick up calls to other group members who have "Call Pickup - Dialed: Accept" set to "Yes" in their Class of Service.
A user can belong to one Pickup group only.
RADs and embedded voice mail ports should not be included in Call Pickup groups.
A DSS/ BLF ring continuous line appearance or a DTS line appearance on a member set can activate a member's pickup prompt even though pickup is not possible. Soft hold recalls and Callbacks cannot be picked up; however, a member with a display set will get a pickup prompt.
Call Pickup or the Preview mode will not work under the following conditions and is subject to the applicable intercept treatment:
You are engaged in a call.
You have a caller on Consultation or Hard Hold
The call is on Consultation or Hard Hold.
The call is a Callback or Recall.
An interconnect restriction exists between you and the calling party.
Server-based MiVoice Business platforms support up to 800 pickup groups by default. All other controllers support up to 200. You can flex support to 3000 groups for all controllers.
Under the following conditions, the information displayed in the Preview mode may not match the picked up call:
If there are multiple calls to the same member and the call you are previewing is picked up by another group member, then you will pick up the next available (not the previewed) call to the same member.
In general, if the call being previewed is no longer available, the system exits the Preview mode. However, if there are multiple appearances ringing on your devices and you invoke the pickup, the displayed caller information may not match the answered call.
An extension in a Preview mode is considered BUSY.
The Preview option does not apply to Auto Pickups.
Only the prime member of a Personal Ring Group, Multi-device User Group or External Twin Group can be added to a Pickup Group. Lines on members of these groups can be picked up but do not need to be added to the group.
Ensure that stations are allowed to connect to one another.

Assign stations you want to pick up calls from one another in the same group. Set Auto Pickup to "Yes" if you want a call to the pickup group to be automatically directed to the first member of the group to go off-hook.
NOTE: Do not enable Auto Pickup if Voice Mail Message Notification is enabled.
Enable "Call Pickup - Dialed: Accept" to allow other users in the same pickup group to pick up calls to that set.
For 69xx devices and 53xx series MiNET devices, if you wish to preview the calling party and called group member's information before completing the pickup:
Enable option "Call Pickup Display".
Set the "Display Caller ID on Multicall/Keylines Timer". This setting defines the length of time the preview information is displayed - if you do not complete or cancel the pickup before the timer expires.
